Season 2 Episode 17

In case you are wondering why this blog is now on Sundays instead of Saturdays, let me explain: I have moved my posts for The Good Wife blog of mine to Saturdays so that pushed this blog back. I moved the Good Wife blog back a day because I posted in my Madam Secretary blog on Friday. I might have posted that blog today instead of Friday, but I decided against that. I had a roll of a certain show which means I update my TV blog on that day. Since that day was Thursday when I updated my TV blog and I hadn't published in my Madam Secretary blog this month, I had to do an update there. I don't know yet if anything will mess up or change with the plan for the future. I just know that there should be three more posts in the next three weeks until you see monthly updates for a while. In fact, you'll probably only see monthly updates in the future. But I'll explain more soon. For now, let's get to the post on the penultimate episode of CSI: Cyber (and possibly the whole franchise).

It looks as if this show may be ending soon. Well, this season is. There is a slim possibility that it comes back for future seasons, but I doubt that will happen. Sorry if I sound like an Eeyore or depressing like that. But unlike some people, I’m never going to be in denial about a probable cancellation of a show. I may be a pessimist person generally (although that may not show up that much in life) so hopefully I don’t sound grim about things. With the CSI franchise, it seems that we never know when things end and they never end in May.

The first part has a recap of stuff I haven’t seen yet since I’m always watching most shows out of order. But I’ll mention that earlier. Get it? We get to a woman dancing around. Now I may not be attracted to men, but why aren’t they ever sexualized? It appears that a crime has been committed. But what is the cyber connection? Brody is doing something that he risks going to jail for. There could be weather coverage where I live. Hopefully it will only affect one of my CBS affiliates, if it affects one at all. The crime involved hacking maps to rob people. The team drives out to a crime scene. A victim is alive, which is good.

The second part brings us the focus of today’s episode: supercookie. The team looks for three women. D B talks to a woman he is dating, possibly. I’ll find out more later by watching earlier episodes. I forget if we’ve seen her thus far. Someone might have hacked rail road crossing signs. Brody tells Raven about his quest to clear his name. I’m glad that they are giving him a story. I just hope that they wrap things up before this show ends. They figure out what is behind the hack of railway crossing. Someone who is an accomplice (but maybe not willingly) talks to people about the crime.

The third part has people identifying their victim. They find out more information with the case. Once again they use magic computery things to find the person they are looking for. A person informs Avery about Brody’s plan to sue. The female victim was actually part of the crime against the man. But did something go wrong that got her hurt?

The fourth part is when the team looks through a place they somehow has access to where they look through potential evidence to the case. The criminals talk about the problems they had relating to their case. A man thinks that his sister isn’t part of the problem, but she might be. Brody mentions more of the case against him that he filed the lawsuit about and he tells Raven about why he didn’t tell Avery about the lawsuit. They label the various criminals in the case. We see a crime scene montage. I miss those. I wonder why we don’t see them as much as we used to. Maybe it’s because this is a different show. They find evidence to catch their suspects. Meanwhile, I love the false flashbacks that shows have.

The fifth part has the supercookie explained. They are using it to catch flash squad, their perpetrators. The team finds the location of where flash mob is. They make it seem like different cops are after them in order to actually catch them. D B goes on his date. He seems to enjoy it for the most part. His girlfriend is considering moving. What effect will this have on the relationship? Long distance can work. Some people I know would have probably never married if they weren’t long distance at one point. I’m fairly certain that one of my cousin’s kid wouldn’t exist either. Brody and Avery talk about his lawsuit. The FBI drops their charges against Brody. But they are considering getting rid of the hack for good program which would send Raven to jail.

On the next CSI: Cyber, the season (possibly and probably series finale) happens and it looks like someone will die. This better not be a cliffhanger ending. Normally I like a good cliffhanger, but that’s only if the show come back for a future season. I’m definitely a pessimist because I just don’t see that happening. I can’t remember the last regular season CBS scripted show to not end a season in May (or at least April) and come back for a future season. We are lucky that a midseason replacement like this got a second season in the first place. I should tweet ABC to see if they might be interested in this show. But I’m not sure any other network is. I’ll mention more of my thoughts on series finales in terms of quality in the next blog post. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 16

Remember when I talked about how the CSI franchise could continue if this show were to end? Well, I’m sorry if I’m being a bummer of a person. But there is probably no way that this show could avoid cancellation unless CBS makes a dumb choice regarding it and they have too high ratings and thus too high a standard to keep something as low rated as this show. But back to the point I was making before: there are ways for the franchise to continue. One of them that I just now thought of would involve a made for TV movie being made that could serve as a potential pilot to a new series. That could work, even as just a one-off movie. Meanwhile, I’m still wondering if movie theatres will ever show stuff like a CSI movie in the future. They could even go R if they wanted to.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with a warped church person. That happens a lot. But I do wonder why we never see other religions being warped as much. It tends to only be Christianity. Well, that and Islam, but they always seem to defend Islam and never Christianity. Anyhoo, a person winds up dead and everyone receives notifications about it at the crime lab though a social media site. They investigate the crime and other crime pictures are sent as well.

The second part brings us the focus of today’s episode: QR (Quick Response) code- A pattern of black and white squares that can be scanned by the camera of a smartphone to download information. They look up more information about the case. Someone makes a picture of someone in hell taken at their visitation. Meanwhile, they look up information of someone who did sex selfies. These murders have to do with the five deadly sins of social media: hate speech, porn, violence, drugs, and trolling.

The third part has more of the possible stalker person that I forgot to mention earlier. Elijah’s dad goes to confront her and he winds up passing out. Did she cause this? Her name is Nina and Elijah confronts her and gives her a restraining order. But she’s still able to sneak back into the hospital with a wig and Elijah knows this. We might see her again in the last episode. Meanwhile, with the case, it appears that one of the tech people that they talked to earlier is behind the killings. She finds the trolling person from earlier and ties him up. But the team is able to find them and stop her. She ends up killing herself, being the last victim of her own crimes. They decide to take her account down so as to not inspire anyone else to commit murders like hers.

On the next CSI: Cyber, a group of women commit crimes. I’ve already written about that episode and have just the last episode this season (possibly ever) and the one that aired on Valentine’s Day left to write. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 15

I have planned ways of continuing this blog if this show ends. But we’ll see if I continue this blog after it ends. I probably will. Just know that after the final episode of this show airs, I’ll do at least one post after the last episode. The last episode will be the last blog post of any episodes regardless of the order that I post episodes in. If this show does get cancelled, I’ll certainly post more of the episodes quicker than just one episode a month so I can keep things updated better. What would I post once this show ends? Well, you’ll have to wait and see.

I don’t know for sure just how many episodes of this show are left to air. I thought that there were twenty-two episodes this season, but I could be wrong about that. I could also be wrong about which episode this season we are on. I believe that it is the fifteenth episode, as stated by the title of this post. But am I wrong? And with this show’s timeslot being replaced with a different show, if there are still unaired episodes, then we’ll have to wonder when/if these episodes are going to air. For instance, I’m still wondering when Person of Interest is returning. But we’ll see what happens for sure.

Things can generally change for people throughout time. The Rams move back to LA after spending a long time in St. Louis. It’s possible that this show is filmed on the same set that CSI: New York was. But back to the Rams: since they moved from St. Louis, should people from there stop rooting for them? A lot of people are, based on my understanding of the situnario. Now I’m not sure if all the people from LA are suddenly going to abandon their football team to root for the Rams. I’m not sure how team moves work regarding fanship. Meanwhile, if the Rams and Broncos play each other in regular season play, somebody let me know what the score is. This will decide who I root for first and who I root for second. But I’m not sure if they’ll play each other at all.

The first part is a recap of previous episodes and the hunt for Python. Have I seen these episodes before? I’m not sure that I remember them. Oh, wait: I haven’t seen the Valentine’s Day episode just yet. She’s moving into a new place and hears a music box. She finds a tablet with her daughter’s death on it. There’s a head in the box too. Someone who is looking for Python is holding someone else hostage. The team looks into the strange case. They are able to get in contact with a hostage named Grace and it turns out that Python killed his own mother and that’s whose head they have. I think that Python was from episodes before I started this blog that aren’t on VHS for me.

The second part brings us the focus of today’s episode: shodan map, whatever that is. Avery tries to help the hostage, but she gets interrupted by Python. They are able to solve one puzzle after an incorrect guess. Elijah goes after a person related to the case. Malware is being put on the computer.

The third part has more explanation into the malware regarding how it is in the system. A man named Miguel talks about his hunt for Python. There is something wrong with Grace and that is how Python plans to kills her. The surge protector wasn’t replaced. This villain reminds me of Palont (probably spelled wrong) from Bones who also someone had control over computers that was excessive and ridiculous. Sometimes the villains have more power than they should. Anyways, they try to hunt down someone related to the case.

The fourth part has a torture experience of a suspect or witness. Grace doesn’t think she can make it. But can she? People are looking for where Python might be. There is a dangerous way to find out her location. Due to some very strange probably bullshit way of using a mirror to get the camera’s information, they are able to get important information relating to the case. Dante is the real name of Python and it looks like he is taking more measures to ensure that Grace dies. But would she really die? I’m not sure that will happen, although it could.

The fifth part has the aftereffects of their risky member. There are clues given that help solve the case. Elijah and the person he is with pass the car that Python is using to get away only they are not able to chase after him as they still need to get Grace. They are able to rescue her and somehow Avery gets there to talk to her. They then have to get their computer systems back online after what happened. Avery tries to sleep, but then is awakened by Python bursting into her house. She is able to kill him before he hurts her. Guess we won’t have to see his ridiculous ways again. And they didn’t drag it out for too long like Bones did with Pelont. Of course, the people writing this probably know that they won’t be able to do that anyways. At least I hope they realize that this show has bad ratings.

On the next CSI: Cyber which will air on Sunday, there is someone going after the sins of social media. There are only three more episodes this season so I guess that there are only eighteen episodes instead of twenty-two episodes. It makes you wonder if my count is right, although I see no reason why it wouldn’t be. But I’ll be back then with the next episode. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 14

If there was ever a future show in the CSI franchise, one might wonder where it would be set and what it would be about. They have set the shows in Las Vegas, Miami, New York, and Quantico is where this one is set. Where would future ones be set? They haven’t gone to the Midwest in this show. They could do a CSI: St. Louis. That’s probably my prediction. Or, they could do one in Seattle. I mean, there are links to it with D. B. I remember reading that one of the cast members from CSI still wanted to appear in the show. She could still appear in a future spin-off of some sort. I think that the actress’s name was Elizabeth something or other but I can’t remember what her character’s name was. She was a younger person and was in the show towards the end. In fact, she joined around the same time that D. B. was put in the cast and I was possibly thinking that they might do a spin-off in LA. Although, that seems unlikely as a location since there is an NCIS show in LA. That’s also why we won’t see a CSI: New Orleans in the future. But, the location could be in Baltimore.

I typically update it every Wednesday, although it can and does change at different times throughout the year. It’s my blog about the show Survivor. I might actually make a different blog the primary blog of mine should it ever end, but at the moment it looks like there is no end in sight for Survivor and the only worrisome sign of that happening would be if Jeff Probst died, retired, or left the show for one reason or another. I mostly update my other blogs based on that one even if it means posting about episodes long after they air.

It looks like the PGA tour might cut off some of the planned newscast scheduled at 5:30 before 60 Minutes starts at 6. But only if it cuts off too much of it would it be a problem and that isn’t happening tonight. I know that tape delay is mostly gone until football returns, but it isn’t gone entirely. There might be tennis in the future. There will certainly be two Sundays affected by March Madness and we’ll probably have to worry about The Masters affecting it as well. After The Masters airs, we probably won’t have to worry about the show getting delayed again until season 3 (if the unlikely happens and this show gets renewed). Meanwhile, somebody let me know when The Broncos play the Rams in football so I know the final score. I won’t say why I’m interested in these particular teams or why I only care about their first game against each other. But I’ll try my best to stay updated myself so I know this myself without having to rely on someone else. Anyways, today I am live blogging this episode.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with a man giving a statement to the police about a missing person who we can see was in fact kidnapped. How is this a cyber crime? I guess we’ll see what relates. People then find her body by the looks of it. D B had a date by the looks of it. The team investigates the case and they believe that the husband is the killer. It looks like the device she was wearing is the cyber connection.

The second part brings us the focus of today’s episode: near field communication. People find information based on what the wrist wear says. Is it just me or do they have a dumb password for a high tech crime company? There is an activity log that contradicts what the suspect says. But I do have the feeling that the husband being the suspect is too easy. It turns out that the husband was looking for relationship advice to help his marriage. They look for a different suspect and find a dead body. Actually, the person is not actually dead.

The third part has people at the crime scene. They are interviewing the person who they found who looks like he survived the same type of thing that Alison, the dead person, did not. It appears that the perpetrator was looking to harvest organs on the black market. There’s another person kidnapped and one of the people responsible looks like he is being trapped into doing this in some way.

The fourth part has Keith, the unwilling criminal, talking to the mastermind of the whole case. It turns out that he is doing this for a person that he knows. That is why he is into illegal organ harvesting. The good guys find a way of finding who is responsible, or at least who is after a kidney.

The fifth part has the team figuring out who is responsible for the kidnappings, killings, and organ harvesting. They are able to find the people and help the two people who both underwent surgery. The criminals don’t see what they did wrong. Daniel wins the bet against Brody. Avery and D B are able to watch a recording of the game that they missed.

On the next CSI: Cyber, airing March 2^nd, Avery is looking for her daughter who she suddenly has all of a sudden. Did I miss something? I should probably look up more about her character sometime. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 13

The midseason schedule is in full swing and that affects the schedule on CBS. It will even affect the airing of this show. You will see some new episodes of it on Wednesday at 10/9 Central. But this will be gone during midseason and replaced with Rush Hour on Thursdays in Elementary’s old time slot while Elementary movies to this time slot. Meanwhile, Code Black, the show that replaced CSI, will be replaced with Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. Meanwhile, Life in Pieces, which replaced half of CSI: New York, will be replaced by a returning show: The Odd Couple.

I created that blog due to a dream about having a Madam Secretary blog. Tape delay created other blogs about the shows on after it due to rules that I have regarding when that could happen. I might create one about Elementary, although I’m not sure if that will happen unless they keep airing it in this timeslot in future seasons. I also had a dream about having a blog about Bob’s Burgers, but at the moment, I won’t create it although that could change at some point before it ends.

Here’s a section that I’m putting in multiple blog posts. I was away from my home visiting family the day that this episode aired. There were potential ways for me to record the Sunday episodes of shows that I blog about, but I was concerned that the PGA tour might run long and there would be a tape delay messing up the recordings. This didn’t ultimately happen, though. I could have potentially watched and blogged about it elsewhere, but a lack of definite plans prevented that. Thus, the CBS shows that I blog about were watched online for this week and this post may be different than usual as a result.

There were different plans going into the weekend as to how I would see these episodes for my blog. Using my TV tuner was not an option as that would mean either leaving it set up all weekend or trusting some new person with access to the house that I’d have to give them in order to somehow figure out how to set up my laptop to record stuff on it. Now I do not trust anyone to set up the laptop to record shows because they could easily mess up at that. Now you’d think the Super Bowl would mean that tape delay is over for the season, but it isn’t. I’ve learned before that there will be other reasons that tape delay would still happen in the future. The epg that I use said that it would be golf until 5:30, then half an hour of local news followed by an on time 60 Minutes. The golf worried me and I didn’t set up the VCR to record as a result. Now I could have brought my laptop to my brother’s house and blog about it there, but it didn’t seem like a good idea and it wouldn’t have been. I should have used the VCR after all, but I didn’t know when I’d be back or if it would mess up or not. So I’m watching this online and hopefully it won’t happen again, although it probably will happen that I’m not able to watch live or record the show in the future anyways. I’ll just do my best to avoid it happening in the future.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with a person who was running away from a person, by the looks of it, someone bad. Avery receives news that her ex-husband has died and she got the life insurance policy. She gets upset about it. But he’s not actually dead by the looks of it. He has been falsely labeled as dead. You know, I’ve seen a 60 Minutes special on that. It would be bad to be declared dead when you aren’t. Of course, it would be bad to be dead. He has apparently been digitally murdered somehow. Unlike a lot of this show, this is one that I actually believe would happen. It turns out that a lot of people have been declared digitally murdered.

The second part brings us the focus of today’s episode: social engineering- manipulating computer users to reveal sensitive information to use in a hack. A person is freed of charges, but it looks like he is an evil person. Avery talks to the suspect from earlier and tries to negotiate for information. Of course, the suspect wants freedom, but will she get it? Avery’s ex is getting married. The ex of his fiancé is fighting against him marrying her. The suspect is helping with the case for some odd reason. Can she be trusted? This might just be for her to get out of jail time.

The third part has Avery helping her ex. She has mixed emotions and doesn’t know how to react. The team looks for more evidence with the case. They look for more information with Stella, the female suspect from earlier. She has immunity for the moment, but it apparently can be revoked. Can it though? Is that something that can really happen? But she gives information relating to the case. Avery talks more to her ex about why she had the life insurance policy. She used him on a box of hers.

The next part has people looking for information relating to the case. They go on what looks like a stakeout of some sort. Daniel seems convinced that Stella is still evil and she probably is. They arrest a guy who was helping Stella. She is the reaper person that they were looking for. So they chase after her and are able to get her easily. Avery talks to her ex one last time.

Well, I’m glad that somebody put this episode on youtube or I might not have been able to see it. You see, I had planned to watch it on www.cbs.com like I would most other shows I’d need to watch online, but I wasn’t able to as I must have waited too long. But, I was able to see it. Yay for me! Now I have only the last episode this season to watch left and I’ll be back with other posts later. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 7

Well, this show was officially cancelled. At least I remembered to add this little blurb at the beginning of this blog post before I get into the rest of it. Anyways, starting with the 13th episode of this season, I'll post the rest of the episodes at a faster pace than I have been in the past. Then, you'll see a special post before I come up with a new way of continuing this blog. You should see updates in this blog every Saturday for the near future. Well, that's the plan at least. Things could change. Just keep in mind that whenever you don't see an update, that would mean that a different blog of mine got an update. But I will be back with the rest of the season before I come up with a new format for the blog. I'll explain more than.

Sports delays can be really confusing when it comes to my TV show watching. It’s already confusing to watch most shows out of order. (To be funny, I should do things out of order in this blog post or any of them, but you see them out of order anyways.) What I find interesting about this week’s episode was that in my region, the football game they were showing was replaced with another football game that was more interesting. I don’t know how often this happens. Meanwhile, I was too distracted to see the final score of the game originally, but I’m hoping that I’ll catch it on the news.

Here’s a paragraph that I felt was worth posting in multiple blogs. On the 13^th of November (which was incidentally a Friday for all you superstitious people) a bad event happened. There were terrorist bombings in France. The news talked about how this could affect football games over the weekend. It could also potentially affect various programs on TV. While it doesn’t matter in the long run if shows are affected due to current events, I will keep an eye out for potential changes in these blogs.

Now don’t think that I have low priorities because I’m pointing out that live events can mess with the airing of shows. This blog is about a TV show so it seems only fair for me to tell you about these changes. Typically, networks accommodate what they can. Lots of shows affected by and after 9/11 went on with some changes as seen fit. I remember after the Sandy Hook shooting that there was some affecting of the Survivor episode (the 25^th season finale), but they showed the whole episode and only messed up recordings for those with DVR (which wouldn’t have happened anyways since there was a football game that cut into the episode that night as well).

Now I should get to a better introduction for this blog post. Sorry if you don’t like my ramblings. But, I do have other blogs that I ramble in as well. The reason this one is delayed is due to football, which I already told you about. Plus, I had to poop so I wasn’t able to start watching when I would have wanted to start. But I did make sure to put it on VHS simply because my first official episode hasn’t aired yet (that’s the one that has neither of my CBS affiliates on tape delay) so I could still blog about it in the future. Well, the future is now.

Today’s episode is brought to you by 56 minute delay. We begin with someone who thinks she is about to get engaged, but instead she gets murdered. A person tries talking about the murdered person. He appears to have some sort of mental problem possibly. The victim is named Isabelle. They look through evidence of the case. Avery continues talking to the witness. There are some problems with him that make it seem like something isn’t right with him.

The second part brings us the focus of today’s episode: malware- software used to gather sensitive information or gain access to private computer systems. Finally, something that I’ve actually heard about is mentioned as the main part of the episode. Tristan is the person that they are talking to. It was a sex toy that caused the problem with malware to happen. This brings a whole new meaning to the phrase internet sex. Apparently cyber rape is real. Suddenly I understand why people hate this show. But, it could be real, although I really hope that it isn’t. Daniel buys a sex toy that has the same malware on it. Brody has problems with a blast from his past: a brother of his. Avery talks more to Tristan. Brody and Daniel uncover that this problem with malware is widespeard. This is around when I start watching so I’ll let my past self take over for most of the rest of this blog post.

While it was around the 10:20 that I started watching, I’ll pretty much start this blog post around the time the next part began after that. They are looking for information about Isabelle, the victim. Brody is trying to find their target but is unable to. A hack from earlier is brought back up. They are looking for the killer and find that their suspect was a neighbor to Isabelle. Tristan is the suspect. I think that it is too soon to know who the killer is. But maybe not.

The next part has Avery profiling the suspect at hand. Hopefully, as usual, I’ll be able to understand the whole episode once I’m able to see it all. Regretfully, I missed out on a scene after I started watching since I edit out commercials when I do. That’s as simple as not recording them. They are more convinced throughout the scene that Tristan is probably their killer, but are unable to find him right now. Maybe he is the killer and the rest of the episode is about finding him and getting his story. Also, since I’m actually remembering names this time, it seems likely that I’ll remember who he is when I’m watching the first part later. It turns out that Tristan isn’t the killer. He was trying to help Isabelle, but failed.

The next part has a video from Isabelle. It was originally deleted, but then they found it back again. There is a 0% match on DNA that Brody tests. He then talks with a man on the phone that must have been from earlier in the episode. Tristan confronts the suspect while Avery uses the internet to talk him out of becoming a vigilante. But then there is a sudden twist that I don’t fully understand. I’m going back to the normal font of this blog for a moment to add something. I guess that the suspect was shot by someone else although we’ll see both Tristan and the shooter in court.

One update before I get to the last paragraph is that I’m talking about an episode that I’m not ultimately blogging about. It’s possible that I will blog about it and various other episodes from this season in possible rewatches of the show in the future. But it probably relates to Python whom I know we will see again in a blog post that I’m doing later.

On the next CSI: Cyber, the team is looking for a serial killer or some sort of recurring villain that might have been from a previous episode that I don’t remember. Of course, you might have already seen my post about that episode. Seeing things out of order can be confusing. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 12

I had originally planned on this being a blog about the whole CSI franchise in general before deciding just to do a blog about CSI: Cyber. Yes, I actually do like this show. I wonder why others don’t. But, I would do blogs about other shows that are part of the CSI franchise. That is, I would do that if there is ever more to the franchise. But, is the franchise going to last? There are warning signs believing that it won’t. I mentioned this before in my TV blog http://adamdeckertv.blogspot.com/ that the future of the franchise looks pretty bleak. (Check for the post labeled CSI franchise speculation) It might not have a future. Since it all rests in just this show, you have to wonder what the options are.

Why does the future of the franchise look bleak? How does it all rest on this show? Well, if this show were doing well in the ratings, then there wouldn’t be a problem. But it’s not. The bad reception is another huge problem. One of the biggest problems with it right now is its terrible time slot. Every show on CBS at 10/9 Central on Sundays gets cancelled. New shows are almost never put there. They normally put some type of older there where it slowly dies. I have a list of shows that aired at that time slot. Here they are: Without a Trace, Cold Case, Three Rivers, The Unit, CSI: Miami, NYC 22, The Mentalist, CSI, and Battle Creek. Those are all that I can remember airing then, at least.

Now last season it seemed like since CSI and CSI: Cyber were connected in enough of a way that only one of them would get cancelled. CSI was, after coming back this season for a mere two episodes. I’ll never get over how strange that was. Who brings a show back for two episodes? Anyways, the fact that those two episodes aired this season makes it possible that CSI: Cyber won’t get cancelled this season. Since the shows are so linked, you wouldn’t think that they’d both get cancelled the same season. That’s why CSI: Miami got cancelled and CSI: New York lasted at least one more season a while ago. That’s why when it comes time to cancelled part of the NCIS franchise, that if multiple ones get low ratings, only one of them would end in a single season. You can contest this logic if you want to, but I believe that it would always lead to a choice between them and not both of them ending at once. The thing is, CSI was technically over last season so that doesn’t help this show prevent itself from getting cancelled this season. But, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t other possibilities.

One of the things that I wonder about at times is whether or not a cancelled show will get picked up by another network. I wonder that about the CSI franchise due to a dumb decision made by not one, but three different networks. That decision related to the original pilot for CSI. It wasn’t originally pitched to CBS. It was rejected by ABC, FOX, and NBC. All three of those networks rejected the CSI pilot before CBS picked it up. That’s why I think that CBS was so quick to make CSI: Miami and CSI: New York. Three networks rejected the pilot and now there would be three CSIs on TV. Those three all ran their course by the time that they ended. But CSI: Cyber hasn’t. Would any of those three networks be interested in making more CSI: Cyber should CBS cancel it? FOX might not since it relies on a demographic of younger viewers that this show doesn’t have. Meanwhile, NBC now has the Chicago franchise and still has some of the Law and Order franchise. Do they need more? ABC might be the best bet of the three. Of course, it could be none of them as yet another network picks it up or it might just end when it gets cancelled. That’s what happens to most shows anyways.

Here are the options going forward: 1- Despite the low ratings, CSI: Cyber could get renewed for next season. They could try to milk out at least syndication from this before tossing it aside. However, they could just pair this with the Ted Denson episodes of CSI. I mean, they did move him here for a reason. 2- This show ends and so does the franchise. Since they’ve had it for sixteen years, they could want to keep it lasting longer, so this might not be as likely a choice as some might think. 3- The CSI franchise continues in movie forms. CBS Films has to do something good in the future, right? 4- After this show’s cancelation, within two year’s time, a new show in the franchise is launched. Starting fresh could work, even if there isn’t a direct case to link them. 5- Another network picks up this show after it is cancelled. That option is possibly, but it might not be too likely since that would mean giving part of the franchise to someone else. 6- Something else happens that I can’t predict. I do promise that if there is more to the CSI franchise in the future, I will create a blog about it.

It is possible that a new CSI spin-off will happen if this show is cancelled. Anthony Zuiker, the creator of the whole CSI franchise, pretty much said so himself. So the question then becomes whether or not this show will get cancelled and for CBS to do anything else with its ratings wouldn’t make any sense. Not that networks haven’t done that before…

Today’s episode is brought to you by now delay. We begin with tea being poured. I guess this is some type of asshole since tea is involved. You know TV/movies and their symbolism. You also have the classical music playing while this guy is murdered on a chair and another guy looks at it. Too many people are having problems calling 911. They think that a cyber intrusion is happening. They mention who uses a landline anymore, but pay phones would probably be used less than that. Plus, I do wonder if phones where you can just hang up by closing the phone would be able to by-pass the problems that people have. They find the wi-fi on a bus to be infecting other wi-fi routers.

The second part brings us the focus of this episode: default password. I would have more information about what that is, but I’m live blogging this episode today and thus wasn’t able to pause it to write it down like I normally would. A new agent here is after Brody and wants money that Brody stole back. But, Brody is working the case despite this man’s wishes because Avery wants him to. Brody finds out that the message is a recording that is tricking people into thinking that they got through to 911. They look into a possible person in the case.

The third part has the team finding dead bodies of the 911 caller from earlier. She called about the break-in of her house. This leads to more investigation into the main hacking case. Now is the murder case that important to the main hacking case? It looks like he might be reenacting old 911 calls. Interesting, right? The third call is the next planned attack.

The fourth part has the link between the three 911 calls. It turns out he was responsible for the deaths of those three callers. Avery has to convince the bureaucrat that Brody can be trusted using Amber Alert. But Finch gets it and reports false sightings of himself. But they are able to outsmart him as usual (it’s usual that any group of heroes would outsmart the villains).

The fifth part has a stand-off between the suspect and the team. He truly is a warped mind, which is what to be expected of pretty much anyone on a crime show. They do catch the suspect. Brody says that the ATM stuff that he is blamed for wasn’t actually his. I do wish that there were more character development on the show. The text that D B got earlier is brought up and he ends up talking to a person even though she didn’t send the text.
