I might do another post as to what I will expect from CSI: Vegas season 2 in this blog instead of any of the other blogs. I mean, I could do a post in that one, but I doubt that I will now at any time when this blog needs random posts five times every year. Meanwhile, there is nothing to mention regarding shows replacing others since most stuff isn’t on right now in favor of Celebrity Big Brother airing as a counterprogram to the Olympics. We should see the schedule return to normal in March. I should have an update there and then as to what schedule changes there will be on CBS.
Here’s
a paragraph worth going in multiple blogs. While you all know by now that I’m
really behind with some of the reviews of movies and am trying to get caught up
on that, I’m hoping (but am making no promises) that things will be done during
the month of February since there will not be a lot of shows on this month due
to the Winter Olympics. But if I only have the chance to watch movies on
weekends, that would be a problem with getting caught up. I should tell you
that at least one movie was watched for one of my blogs in this month’s post. I
think that it is possible to get the rest of them either done or know if I
can’t do it at all. You’ll never know what movie or what blog will get the long
awaited update. But know that I do finally have the time and can only hope that
the weather stays good and I stay healthy.
Patricia
Arquette: The main star of CSI: Cyber has future projects mentioned on imdb
right now. She does a lot, or at least did in the past. We’ll see what all she
will do in the future regarding shows she does. A new project that I see her as
doing is Severance.
Severance:
This will be a TV show. It is set to be released on February 18, 2022.
The plot is about a company that is trying to take work-life balance to a new
level, according to the internet movie database. I’m unsure which network this
will be on. The name might have changed to High Desert. These might be
two different projects or are one in the same. There is a trailer for this now:
Trailer
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTqlZkvbNVg
Thoughts
on trailer: Maybe this is the only trailer or maybe there will be more.
Anyways, from what I can tell of this, it might be trying to go for something,
but also doesn’t seem entirely original, even though I couldn’t tell you what
else this might be like. It could be an interesting show or it could be very
confusing. Are they really doing this of their own free will? It seems
otherwise. I hope for more clarification later. But this could be a good show
that I might never see. Meanwhile, I need to figure out what High Desert is.
Peter
MacNicol: I can’t find much ever, if anything, for this actor. I hope that I
can avoid saying things about him in a paragraph that could easily wind up
outdated forever as I’ve been known for doing. So I came up with this one until
the next project he’s in. He will be in a new film called Our Almost
Completely True Story which we’ll see what comes of it.
Our
Almost Completely True Story: I cannot make since of the plot, other than that
it relates to Jewish people and leprechauns. Maybe it will make more sense
later. It has no release date just yet. It does not have a trailer yet
either.
James
Van Der Beek: I see a project for him called Vampirina. I won’t know for
sure about how long some of his shows will last so I hope that I’m not always
talking about them when or if they aren’t on anymore. But I do believe that
this show of his is still current.
Vampirina:
This is a show about a young vampire girl who has to adjust after a move. It is
an animated Disney Junior show as vampires are a thing that kids should be
educated about in some way. It is out now. I was able to see an episode
of this so enjoy a review:
Review:
Status- Possibly still on the Disney channel. Why I’ve seen it- I watched it so
I could review it for this blog. Noteworthiness- This is based on a book
series. Description- A vampire girl and her family move from Transylvania to
the human world and we see a bunch of adventures with her new friends and
family. Notable People- James Van Der Beek plays the father of the main
character. Pros- The show largely works and is different enough to make it seem
unlike most of the other kid’s shows. Cons- Not all of it makes sense or seems
like it needs to be there. There should be more education stuff in there than
there is. Note to Parents- With this intentionally targeted for kids, you do
not have to worry about much in it. Whether or not you think there could be
issues with the theme of this involving vampires might be the only problem I
can think of about why someone would not want kids seeing this. Recommendation-
I’d put this at a toss-up. There is not much wrong with it as long as you care
about shows for kids. My Viewing Habits- I only saw this once and might not see
it again. Prediction- I don’t care enough to put something in here. Reception:
good. Grade: B-.
Shad
Moss: After his planned movie finally disappeared from imdb since it seems not
to be moving forward as a project, we finally learn of something new that he
will be doing. It is F9. We’ll see if I can understand that or not.
F9:
This is on DVD now. It is an abbreviation for Fast and the Furious 9 as
there have been that many thus far. I wonder if I can get into this one first
and then see any of the others later after it. There is a trailer for it. The
plot relates to the younger brother of the main character being recruited for
REVENGE! What else will happen? I guess that I’ll have to see then to know for
sure.
Review: Movie Name- F9. Rating: PG13.
Noteworthiness- This is part of the Fast Saga, the ninth installment with most
of the main group of characters. Description- Dom, the main character, has to
deal with his brother trying to use technology to somehow take over a lot of
government things. There are issues between them since Dom believes his brother
is responsible for his father’s death. CSI: Cyber Alumni in it- Shad Moss plays
one of the protagonists. Pros- There is a lot of action in here, but enough of
a plot to work and make sense in the long run. There is good character
development going on as well. It can make sense without seeing other movies in
the franchise. Cons- This is highly unrealistic in many places and no, the
movie pointing this out doesn’t make it any better. Parts of it don’t seem to
go anywhere. Note to Parents- Most of the problems with content in this movie
relates to violence with some issues here and there with language. There isn’t
sex or nudity in this so that’s a possible benefit. There is death and killing.
Recommendation- If you have the chance to watch this, then you might as well do
it. IMDB Ranking: 5.2. My Grade: C+.

Charley
Koontz: He will be in something called Eat Your Heart Out. He is also
now in something called Frank and Penelope. Maybe he will do more in the
future or maybe not. I can only hope that he does more. But the less a person
does, the less I have to cover for my blog.
Eat
Your Heart Out: This has an unknown date of release at the moment. The
plot will be a bit complicated as someone literally gave his heart away and needs
to get it back in order to marry someone else. Seems strange, but I might like
it. Still, it is a short and I don’t know how I’d be able to watch any of
those. There’s a trailer for it now:
Trailer
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfJTMnCT7Ps
Thoughts
on trailer: This looks kind of weird, but I guess that it works as an idea of
what they can do with a film like this. I don’t know why a heart would be in
pieces and can only hope that the cat didn’t eat any of them. I guess I’ll see
if I can see what the short film is like if I’m able to see it.
Frank
and Penelope: I don’t quite understand the plot of it yet. It seems like a man
will fall in love with a stripper and that turns his life around somehow. The time
frame of release is June of 2022. There is no trailer for this yet. I
think that this is a movie.
Hayley
Kiyoko: With no music videos that I can think of worth mentioning in this blog
and all of her time being spent on music and not TV shows or movies, I don’t
know if there is much to add in this section at the moment, but will keep it
here for now and hope that she does something new.
Ted
Danson: Surely his time off of TV means that he could be doing movies in the
meantime, but we’ll see if that happens soon or not. It looks like he is doing
more now that I can finally see. It looks like he is in a show called Mr.
Mayor on NBC.
Mr.
Mayor: In this show, a wealthy businessman becomes LA’s mayor. There is a lot
else to this show as well as there are more characters in the world that keep
up with the whole interpersonal relationships and political world that this
show is part of. It is on hiatus. This will return on March 13, 2022
airing at Tuesdays at 8:30/7:30 Central.
Review:
Mr. Mayor: Status- Currently on hiatus.
Why I’ve seen it- I had to see it to review for my CSI: Cyber blog.
Description- A wealthy man wants to impress his daughter and runs for mayor of
LA, an election that he unexpectedly wins, thrusting him into a new world of
politics. Notable People- Ted Danson, from Cheers, Becker, CSI, CSI: Cyber, and
The Good Place, is the main character. Tina Fey from Saturday Night Live and 30
Rock, who also created Unbreakable Kimmi Schmidt and Great News, is the creator
of this show. Bobby Monahan, also from Saturday Night Live, is a character on
this show as well. Holly Hunter, from movies, is on the show. Pros- It seems
like it is a pretty decent show. Cons- It does not have an original premise.
Note to Parents- This could be a risky thing to let your kids watch as at least
one episode focused on legalizing pot. I’d say to be careful with letting your
kids see this. Recommendation- Toss-up. My Viewing Habits- I’ve seen the pilot,
but am unsure yet if I will see any more of this over time. Prediction- It has
been renewed for season 2 set to air next season. Reception: mixed. Grade: C.
Anthony
E Zuiker: After all of this time wondering if the creator of one of TV’s
longest running franchises is ever going to work again, I see him listed as the
producer in a project. He is set to help make something called Spearfinger.
And there is good news in that he will have involvement in CSI: Vegas so
his franchise remains in his hands.
Spearfinger:
This has no release date at this time. I think that it will be a movie.
It is about a Native American legend regarding a woman with sharp fingers who
would like to frighten people. There might need to be more to the plot than
that, so we will see for sure what will happen with this project later as more
information becomes available.
CSI:
Vegas: Not much is known or could be known about this right now other than the
fact that it is going to be a new part of the CSI franchise after five years
without a franchise in around the 21st anniversary of the franchise.
It is on hiatus. It is pretty good in some cases.
CSI: Vegas: Status- Currently on hiatus.
Why I’ve seen it- I’m a fan of the CSI franchise so I wanted to watch this new
one as well. Noteworthiness- This is a continuation of the original CSI,
largely focusing on a new team, but also bringing back people from the original
team returning. Description- We return to characters from the original show
solving new mysteries and dealing with potential issues of old teammates. Notable
People- This has a lot of the original cast returning, including William
Petersen, Jorja Fox, and Wallace Langham. It is also created by the same
franchise creator as the four previous shows, Anthony E Zuiker. Pros- I felt
that this was quite a good show and worth keeping up with. Cons- It can be too
mysterious for its own good and also could ruin what’s previously part of the
franchise. Note to Parents- Don’t let preteens watch this, but teens and older
can. Recommendation- This is good and worth watching. My Viewing Habits- I plan
to watch every episode about this to blog about it. Prediction- I don’t know if
this is going to last now. You’d think that it would, but the main thing
against it right now is whether or not it is just a short term plan in the end.
It is going to last 10 episodes this season so we’ll wait to see if there will
be more episodes and/or more seasons. Reception: great. Grade: B+.

Carol
Mendelsohn: I will tell you about anything she is a producer of since I want to
see something in these updates for her. I have no idea if there is something
that she will be in, but I plan to keep track of what’s going on with her in
the off chance that she does appear in something new. It turns out that she’s a
producer in CSI: Vegas.

Ann
Donahue: I have no idea how I missed this, but she’s in the new CSI: Vegas
as well. I should have all of the main three CSI creators in this as they are
all involved in some way, (although, maybe not as much Anthony, which is weird)
shape, or form. Still, enjoy this section on her that you’ve seen before with
other people.

William
Petersen: He hasn’t done much outside of CSI in the world of television or
movies as far as I can tell. I think that he’s busy with stage work, the likes
of which I will never see, probably. I have no idea if he will still be a
producer in CSI: Vegas.
David
Caruso: This CSI: Miami actor has done nothing in terms of acting for movies on
TV since the show ended. This is because he is retired from acting. I’ll still
keep him in the updates in case there is a change and he does wind up doing
something notable in the future.
Gary
Sinise: He has projects in the works like No Better Place to Die. He
will also appear in something called Zarrar. That’s all that I seem him
doing right now currently. I guess we’ll see in the future what else he might
be able to do. He’ll also be in Joe Bell.
No
Better Place to Die: This movie is about part of a battle during World War II.
It has no release date or trailer at the moment. To date, Gary’s role is
the only one that is in the movie right now and even his is just rumored so
we’ll see what happens.
Zarrar:
This is a Pakistan based movie from what I can tell and I won’t know for sure
what else to say about it as it seems strange what information I can gather
from it thus far. There is no release date for this yet, but hopefully
there will be at some point in time. This is no longer on imdb.
Joe
Bell: This was released in some way in theaters, but not the ones that I was
able to see, as far as I know. This is on DVD now. It is about a man
dealing with his bullied gay son’s death. And it is a true story, which is sad.
I’m
not sure if my video store has this to rent and I don’t care enough about
seeing it so I will be removing this from the updates as a result.
Anthony
LaPaglia: I don’t know much else he could be doing as that doesn’t show up
right now. Maybe he will do more or maybe not. One can only hope that he does
more, but maybe he doesn’t need to. He’ll be in something called Nitram
that will hopefully come out at some point in the US. He’ll be in Florida
Man. He’ll be in Antibody Heat.
Nitram:
This may be out in foreign countries. This movie is based on the true
event of the 1996 Port Arthur massacre. I have no idea right now when or if it
will be in the US. Maybe it could be good as a movie, even while covering a
serious topic. I am keeping this in the updates for now and we’ll see if it
comes out in the future in America. This has a potential release date of March
30, 2022.
Trailer
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DK9RUl1BV4
Thoughts
on trailer: This does not look interesting at all. The plot description seems
much better than what the trailer seems to offer. The trailer isn’t helped by
the very dull version of Chopsticks done in the background throughout nearly
the whole trailer. I can’t make sense of what this is about or why someone
would be so cruel.
Florida
Man: This is a TV show set for release sometime in 2022. It’s about a
former cop who returns to Florida and gets a case that winds up lasting way
longer than you’d think that it should be. I’m unsure what network it will be
on or if it will be in America or not. I can only hope that I can see it, or
maybe not given my lack of time for things.
Antibody
Heat: This is a comedy about the pandemic because that storyline hasn’t been
done to death after production on shows resumed. Didn’t Connecting try this
already? Anyways, it has no release date or trailer just yet.
Laurence
Fishburne: He has a recurring role in Black-ish. But that’s not worthy of its
own section in this blog as it is not a starring role. He’ll be in a TV movie
called Rendlesham. He’ll be in another thing called Blacksmith.
He’ll also be in All the Old Knives. Yet another thing he’ll be in is Marvel’s
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. More things that he is doing are The
School for Good and Evil, John Wick Chapter 4, Sneaks, MacGruber,
and Slingshot.
Rendlesham:
This has no release date just yet. The plot relates to probably aliens
in the 80s in England. I have no idea what network it might air on just yet.
Hopefully, I will find out more about this in the future. We’ll see if this
really is aliens or is something else entirely.
Blacksmith:
This has an unknown release date. In it, a man becomes a fugitive when
his lab is destroyed. Hopefully, more will be revealed beyond that in the
future and I hope that we’ll find out more then in the future. It could be cool
if it is made and comes out.
All
the Old Knives: The release date is unknown at the time. It is about two
federal agents and ex-lovers who have to look back on a six year ago mission to
see what might have happened to another agent. It seems like it could be
interesting.
Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: This
is set to air sometime in 2022. It looks like it would be a kid’s show
based off of these characters and would be animated. There is not much else to
say about this as I don’t know what network or streaming service this will be
on yet and too much of this is still unknown at the moment.
The
School for Good and Evil: In this planned movie, boys are girls are taken to a
place and trained to be either heroes or villains. It is set for release in 2022.
It looks like it will be done in a sort of anime style. This could be
interesting or could be generic.
John Wick Chapter 4: This has nothing
much revealed about it other than being a film in this series. I have no idea
what this series is about. I only know that it exists. This is set to be
released on May 24, 2023. Maybe I’ll have to do more research into this
franchise now and if I’ll even be able to see the first three movies if I even
like the fourth one. (Of course, I have to make sure that I don’t judge a movie
too much if I haven’t seen over movies in the franchise first, as I had that
issue initially with The Bourne Supremacy, having not seen the first movie in
the franchise when I saw it.)
Sneaks:
In this animated movie, we see to see sneakers try to return to their owners.
The release date is unknown. What else is there to say about this for
now? I have no idea, but hope that we will see a lot more of this in the
future.
MacGruber:
This will be on Peacock, a streaming service. I might have to use that account
again. It is out now. This is based on a Saturday Night Live sketch
which is a parody of MacGyver. I wasn’t sure how they got a whole movie out of
it and now they are doing a whole show?
Review:
Show Description- MacGruber is released from jail to help out with more cases
that the government needs help with. Behind the Scenes- This is inspired by a
Saturday Night Live sketch that’s a parody of MacGyver. It features some of the
same people from both like Will Forte, who was also in The Last Man on Earth,
and Kristen Wiig. Also in this is Laurence Fishburne. It is also a continuation
of the movie. My Thoughts- This seems random and vulgar. It can be very
inappropriate. But it has its moments of humor as well and could be worth
seeing if only to find out what happens after the first episode. I give it
three out of five stars. Long Term Prospects- This might last, but I’m honestly
not sure if it will. I say that for now, it could. I’ll see what happens later.
Where to Find- This is streaming on Peacock
Slingshot:
This is about a mission to Saturn’s moon Titan with issues going on in the
space movie. Is there any space movie that doesn’t have issues going on with
it? I know that there has to be some sort of conflict. There is no release
date of this yet.
Adam
Rodriguez: We’ll see what all he might do in the future. He was in Ordinary
Joe, although he was written off of it about halfway through. I never
changed that show to former projects like I probably should have. Well, that
show’s over now anyways and he’s not doing anything else yet.
Ordinary Joe: This has been
cancelled. It is about a man who makes a choice and we see his choice in
three different timelines, one where he went with each of the three major
choices. Enjoy this review of it:
Ordinary Joe: Why I’ve seen it- Adam Rodriguez was in it so I watched it to review for a blog of mine. Noteworthiness- This is based on something called The Format. This was originally written as a pilot back in 2006 before being revived. It was also delayed due to covid related shutdowns such as the originally filming and airing of the show in question. Description- We see three different timelines of the life of one man. It is not that much of a supernatural or science fiction show as it is a regular show done with parallel timelines at once. Notable People- This has Adam Rodriguez from CSI: Miami, among other things. He really only appeared in the first half of the show. Pros- The show is pretty interesting and it seems simple enough to keep the three timelines separate. We also see how events can relate to each other at times. Cons- It can be confusing at times, despite the three different tints used to keep the timelines straight. The endings leaves more to be desired. Note to Parents- There are some issues with it that you might typically see in a show from time to time. I don’t think that there is too much wrong in here that preteens and older can’t watch. Recommendation- I say that you might as well enjoy this while you can. My Viewing Habits- I’ve seen this from the start and am pretty sure that I only missed just one episode. However, due to its bad endings, I won’t be watching it ever again, unless it gets revived somehow. Still, don’t expect this blog to cover it again outside of maybe in the former projects section because Adam hasn’t been a part of the show since maybe October. Cancellation reasons- The ratings were too low and they never ordered any more of it. Similar shows- This is us and A Million Little Things. DVD suggestion- Don’t bother with it. Reception: somewhat favorable. Grade: D.
Melina
Kanakaredes: She will be in a movie called Wake. That is all that I see
her in at the moment. She has done a lot of TV roles, be it main or recurring,
so I hope to see more of her in the future. Until then, I’ll report what I know
of what she’s done.
Wake:
This has an unknown release date at this moment. Its main focus is on a
lie of some sort that tore people apart. Something interesting must happen
beyond that. I just don’t yet know what that will be. I look forward to seeing
it, hopefully.
Marianne
Jean-Baptiste: She has acted a lot ever since Without a Trace ended. I’ll see
through time what else she appears in. She will be in Rumble Through the
Dark. That’s all that I can see of hers for now. We’ll see what else
happens later.
Rumble
Through the Dark: I can’t make as much sense out of the plot even after reading
it on imbd as it seems to relate to someone trying to save the home of his
foster mother and perhaps his family too. It has no release date at this
moment.
Kristen
Bell: She is doing a whole lot still. Let’s see if I can cover all of what’s
she’s done since The Good Place ended. She will also be in a reboot of Gossip
Girl. Yet another thing she is doing is Do, Re, & Mi, a TV show.
She will also be in The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl
in the Window. And one last thing that I see now is called Molly and the
Moon. She will be in Ultra City Smiths as well. She should also be
in The People We Hate at the Wedding. She’s also hosting the game show Family
Game Fight.
Gossip
Girl: This is an HBO Max reboot. I never understood the appeal of that show
back then and am perfectly fine not seeing this on cable or anywhere else. I do
not know if I know anyone whom I could borrow the original series from, although
I will not rule that out. Also, didn’t they reveal who Gossip Girl was? Is
there going to be a new person doing that in the reboot or are we just expected
to forget what’s been revealed in this show already? This is streaming now.

Thoughts
on trailer: Well, it seems like there are some aspects that could be
interesting to me, but most of this is not something that I care for. I never
liked the idea of the original show, but never actually gave it a chance in the
end. This seems like it is focused too much on sex and other aspects of life
that I’m just not that interested in seeing on this show that I wouldn’t care
to watch anyways. It’s a good thing, then, that I won’t be able to see it.
Enjoy
this review of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPQ4nuIe0ck
Do,
Re, & Mi: This is a kid’s show about bird friends who live in a music based
world, it seems. I’m not entirely sure what network it will air on, if it even
airs on a network at all. This is out now. Maybe we’ll see in the
future. There is a trailer for this:

Thoughts
on trailer: I hadn’t realized that this was already out. I plan to just tell
you about more of the release date in the next post. I might be able to see
this, but am not sure about it just yet. As for what I think about it, the
trailer seems too simple and I can’t gather too much from it. I don’t know if I
can like kid’s shows the way that I used to in the past. But I might give this
a try as it seems like it could be good enough. Also, is it just me, or is the
lighting of too many animated shows of today too bright?
The Woman in the House Across the
Street from the Girl in the Window: This is a planned mini-series. I can’t find
a plot for it yet. The title sounds a bit ominous so it might be strange like
that or maybe not. We’ll have to see later. Or maybe it relates to Bones with
the way we see a title like that. This is out now. There is a trailer
for this:
Trailer

Thoughts
on trailer: There seems to be a lot going on in this, but it is clear that
Kristen is playing the main character. Just how much of a psychological
thriller are they going to make of this? And how much of a show can they make
out of this? This wouldn’t work better as a movie then? If we can’t tell how
much of this is real or not, then what’s the point of seeing this? It could be
good, but looks far too mysterious for its own good.
Molly
and the Moon: This has a currently unknown release date. It is said to
be a musical and appears to be written by the creators of How I Met Your
Mother. (Do people still like them after they ended that show?) There is no
known plot of this at the time. Maybe it will be a movie, but could be
something else. Too much of this on imdb is vague right now.
Ultra
City Smiths: This is a TV show about a celebrity’s disappearance. It has been
released. I do not yet know what network or streaming service this will be
on. It could be interesting, but I’d have to know more about it. There’s a
trailer for this now:
Trailer

Thoughts
on trailer: This looks weird and I probably would have liked it better if it
were live action focusing on a more serious plot. I can’t gather much from the
trailer, but there sure are a hell of a lot of people in it. And I guess that’s
all that I can make sense of it for now. What else is there to say?
The
People We Hate at the Wedding: The title explains a lot of this as a family has
conflict leading up to a wedding. I don’t think that there’s much else that one
could say about that. It has no release date yet. It is based off of a
book.
Family
Game Fight: This show is another primetime game show from the mind of Ellen. I
think that it works much better than her Game of Games show, although there are
still some issues that I notice with it at time to time. If you want to know
more about it, here’s a review.
Family Game Fight: Status- Currently on hiatus. It
is unknown if it is coming back. Why I’ve seen it- I had to review it for a
blog of mine. Noteworthiness- This is adapted from some of Ellen’s work on her
talk show. Description- Two families compete against each other in various
games for the most points and a shot at $100,000. Notable People- Married
couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are the co-hosts of this show that also
compete in it with the families. Ellen DeGeneres also created this and is
inspired by some of her talk show’s games and her game show, Ellen’s Game of
Games. Pros- It seems pretty good and fair. I can’t think of much wrong with
it. Cons- Some of the games can be weird. Note to Parents- There is some bad
stuff that shows up from time to time, but not too bad in the end.
Recommendation- I think that it is worth keeping up with. My Viewing Habits-
I’ve only seen one whole episode thus far and parts of others, but would like
to see it again if I can since it is pretty good. Prediction- It may not last
or return, but might stick around. We might have to wait until summer of 2022
to know for sure. Reception: somewhat positive. Grade: B.
Marg
Helgenberger: One of the benefits to missing stuff in the updates is that she
was going to be in a pilot that was not picked up so I won’t have to waste time
putting any of that in the blog and then taking it back out again. She could
return for more of All Rise, but I don’t know yet if she will.
Rory Cochrane: It looks like he will
appear in two movies or projects that might seem like them in the future. One
is called Antlers. He will also be in something new called Encounter.
Something new he is doing is Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
He’ll also be in Boston Strangler.
Antlers:
This is on DVD now. I don’t know if I hope that it will be in theaters
then or not. It is a horror film about a child with dark secrets (because that
totally hasn’t been done already before) and two siblings who are trying to
save him from some sort of horrible creature. There is a trailer for this that
I will talk about.
Trailer
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng5eyOfL8qM
Thoughts
on trailer: Maybe this could be more interesting than I might have thought in
the first place. It certainly doesn’t seem similar to The Sixth Sense and could
have a more original seeming aspect to it even though a lot of the plot is
similar to stuff that I know of from other horror films. It could be good in
the end. It’s hard to know now for sure. I still have not seen this yet.
Encounter:
In this movie, possibly a remake of others, two brothers and their father seek
to protect each other (and possibly the world as a whole) from an alien threat.
This is in theaters now. I hope that this is nothing like Invasion of
the Body Snatchers, unless it has a better ending than that did in the end.
Otherwise, this will certainly get an F. There is a trailer for this now:
Trailer
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJzNtZlxaJk
Thoughts
on trailer: This looks dramatic and cool looking. The trailer also looks vague
in some places and I can’t gather as much from it as I would like. But it could
be cool and I might like to see it. Again, either don’t be like Invasion of the
Body Snatchers or have a different ending than that did.
Winning
Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty: This isn’t set to air until sometime in March
of 2022. There is no trailer yet and I’m not sure yet what network or
streaming service this might air on just yet. But I do know that this is a
planned show about the 1980s Lakers. It has a trailer now:
Teaser
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYOlUZrHRT8
Thoughts
on trailer: This has an intentional retro feel to it that seems odd right now.
I don’t think that there’s enough basketball in the trailer, although this
isn’t the full one as far as I can tell. Also, is it just me or are they
putting nearly everything on HBO Max nowadays? I hope that the style format or
whatever they chose for this isn’t too weird as I don’t know if I’d like to
watch a show that looks like that the whole time. I don’t think that there’s
too much else to say about that right now. I hope that there is a trailer to
see at some point, although this might be it.
Boston Strangler: This has an
unknown release date. It has no trailer yet either. But it does have a plot
of a pair of women who broke the story of, well, the Boston Strangler and
report on this person.
Carmine
Giovinazzo: He is now doing two different projects right now. One of them is 892.
The other is Un$uited. Hopefully I’ll see more of what he’s doing in the
future, but know that there is a lot that I might not be able to see.
892: This is about a marine who has
struggles getting back into civilian life. It could be out now. It
doesn’t have a trailer just yet. It could be interesting, but sounds like it
could also be cliché with plenty of other existing projects like this already
out. I’m keeping this in the updates for now until I can figure out more of
what’s going on with it.
Un$uited:
This is a show about someone who wants to become a professional poker player
before finding out just how much he sucks at it. It has no release date
yet or trailer. I don’t know what network or streaming service this will be on.
Eric
Close: After seeming to do only Christmas related things for a while, he is now
set to star in The Mulligan. I look forward to seeing what else he might
do in the end besides that. We’ll see if there is anything else worth
mentioning in the future.
The Mulligan: This seems to relate to
golf in some ways, but is about far more than just that in the end. But I’d
have to wait and see to know more about it. It has a release date of April
18, 2022. Let’s hope that more is known in the future.
William
Jackson Harper: He is doing something called Dogs in Space. That is the
only thing that I see him doing right now as most of what he’s done since The
Good Place ended has already happened as of this update. He is also in Love
Life which I plan to cover more in the next post.
Dogs
in Space: This is a TV show. It is available now. The plot of it relates
to genetically enhanced dogs trying to find a new planet called home. It is a
kid’s show that would be animated. I wonder what lessons there will be to learn
from it.
First
episode link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4UqQc9Uz0U
Review:
Show Description- Dogs are sent into space to find a new home for humans to
live on. Behind the Scenes- This is a Netflix show. It stars William Jackson
Harper from The Electric Company and The Good Place. My Thoughts- This is
interesting and well done. It puts a lot of detail into world building and
character development. I will admit, though, that it can seem cliché and a bit
predictable in some places. Still, I give this four stars out of five. Long
Term Prospects- I have no idea if this will last or not. Where to Find- This is
a Netflix show, although the first episode is for free on YouTube as linked
above
Love
Life: This is about romance and it is a comedy. It’s also a TV show this is on
HBO Max for its streaming subscribers. William’s character has to be an
important one as he is the sole person on the poster for at least this season.
There is a trailer for this:
Trailer
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVG5KarthPE
Thoughts
on trailer: Does anyone else find the background music or rhythm or whatever
you call it to be a bit annoying? Anyways, I think that this could have some
issues, although parts of it look more unique than it otherwise could be. I do
have season 2 episode 1 bookmarked for future use so we’ll see if I get to
watching it and reviewing the show at some point in time. I hope that this
isn’t too focused on sex instead of actual love.
Simone
Missick: She will be in a project called Hanging by a Thread. All Rise
was picked up for a third season by OWN after all. I’m still including her in
the updates for now, but plan to skip All Rise in the rotation of new people
added to this blog (outside of confirmed former cast members and maybe the
original showrunner) to avoid confusion until it ends for real in the future.
Hanging
by a Thread: This has no release date or trailer yet. It is about a
bipolar man who wants to enforce his medicine free ways on his nephew who is
also bipolar. This seems like it could have a lesson or just be really strange.
Hopefully the lesson is not what the uncle wants to have happen.
Gary Dourdan: He is doing a lot of
projects. One of them is First Wives Club. He’ll also be in The
Moderator. A third thing that he’s doing is The Sea Sand. A fourth
thing that he is doing is Thebes. A fifth thing that he is doing is Mnemonix.
A sixth thing that he is doing is Desdemona’s Revenge. A seventh thing
that he is doing is Bonecrackers. An eighth that he is in is Zero.
First
Wives Club: This is a TV show that airs on BET+. It is a comedy series
about three women who form a friendship after their marriages fall apart. I
doubt that I will be able to see it, but will include it in these updates as
long as it lasts. There is a trailer for this that I’ll get to:
Trailer
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVvS_XdAIAw
Thoughts
on trailer: Wow, there is a whole lot going on in this trailer and yet not much
that I couldn’t get out of other things. I do wonder why they throw in so much
stuff in there and am unsure of what is in there that I’d care about. I guess
that I’m good without this in the end.
The
Moderator: This has no release date or trailer yet. In this movie or
some other sort of drama, a female blogger wants to bring her own justice after
two of her friends wind up murdered. As a real blogger, I’d have to recommend
against vigilante justice.
The
Sea Sand: This is a drama set in the 1920s about a woman seeking to find what
had happened to her kidnapped twin. This has no release date yet or
trailer. It sounds like it could be an interesting plot. I just hope that they
have real twins playing the role, unless it isn’t identical twins.
Thebes:
This is a movie about a detective looking for a missing teen from a small town
and learns that there are dark secrets there and she’ll have to face her past
in some way. Now while this sounds interesting, it also sounds like the plot
for plenty of other movies that already exist. This has no release date
or trailer yet.
Mnemonix:
It is about a virus that killed half of human life while also creating a new
form of life as well. It is set for release sometime in 2022. It could
be interesting, even with the unoriginal elements of The Time Machine,
Avengers: Infinity Wars, and The Crossing.
Desdemona’s
Revenge: Not surprisingly, this has no release date yet. It also had no
trailer at this moment either. It is about a pair of thieves and the people
chasing them with the plot on imbd possibly spoiling the entirety of this
short.
Bonecrackers:
The plot appears to be about a crime family of sorts. It has no release date
yet nor does it have a trailer. I can’t tell what all to make out about this
without going too much into the potential plot. But expect a lot of deception
going on with the characters.
Zero: While this doesn’t have a release
date yet, it does have a release year of 2022. It does not have a
trailer, but it does sound very interesting. People have ten hours to find out
why they have bombs attached to themselves. It could be an interesting
thriller.
Sofia
Milos: This actress from CSI: Miami has a project in the works. It is Made
Guys. I’ll have to see what else she might do in the future other than
that. I look forward to covering what all she is doing next. But it won’t
actually be that, probably.
Made
Guys- This looks like a stoner comedy movie about people who accidently join
the mob or something like it. This has no release date or trailer just
yet. But it looks like it could be good, maybe, if it isn’t too dumb. This is
no longer on imdb.
Vanessa
Ferlito: She hasn’t done anything since NCIS: New Orleans ended. I hope to see
more of her in the future. Or maybe not since this blog has far too much in it.
I guess we’ll see if there is more for her or not. Otherwise, that’s one less
person to worry about.
Former
projects: In this section, I will keep track of shows that people in this blog
used to be mentioned in as doing in some way. I might keep track of other
things too. This will be used to keep track of what shows might still be on
even after someone has left it in some way. Dancing with the Stars is
one of these shows. Since Shad Moss’s time in it is over, I’m including The
Masked Singer in this part as well.
Dancing
with the Stars- This is currently on hiatus. I watched it at least once
to see what it’s like and because James Van Der Beak was on it. This is a
reality competition show where professional dancers team up with celebrities of
sorts.
Review:
Status- Currently on ABC at 8/7 Central on Mondays. Why I’ve seen it- I watched
it since James Van Der Beek was in a season of it. Description- Celebrities
team up with professional dancers to compete on a live show. Notable People- Carrie
Ann Inaba, who is currently on The Talk, is a judge on the show. Pros- It can
be better and more interesting than one might think, giving its genre. Cons-
Too much time is wasted on this show due to set up to dances and other
competitions. Note to Parents- Outside of sometimes inappropriate outfits,
there might not be too much bad in the show, although you’d have to watch for
yourself. Recommendation- This isn’t too bad, but isn’t outstanding either. The
main reason why one wouldn’t want to watch it would be time commitment to other
things. Prediction- This will probably keep lasting. Reception: good. Grade:
B-.
The
Masked Singer: I knew it was only a matter of time before someone that I
covered in one of the cast updates was on this show. Thus, I’m going to include
a review here. If I had to guess that anyone from any show I do cast updates of
was going to appear on this show, I knew that it would probably be Shad Moss
before it would be anyone else.
The
Masked Singer review: Status- Currently on hiatus. Why I’ve seen it- It turns
out that Shad Moss, whose career I follow for a blog, was on the show so I
watched it to see what it was like. Noteworthiness- This is adapted from a
South Korean show and is the first non Asian adaptation of the show.
Description- Different celebrities in masks compete on a singing show where the
loser gets unmasked. While all get unmasked at some point, the winner goes the
longest without this fate. Notable People- Ken Jeong, from Community and Dr.
Ken, is a judge on the show. Pros- This doesn’t have as bad a voting problem as
other reality competition shows since what we see is always pretaped. Even if
they aren’t professional singers, they can still be good. Cons- Some have
complained that the results of voting is too random and can eliminate great
professional singers from the game. Too much of this seems wasted on the banter
between the judges and host or trying to guess the identities of the singers. Note
to Parents- I haven’t seen enough of this to know if it is bad, but my guess is
that this is something the whole family could watch. Recommendation- I think
that it is a good show in the end and worth keeping up with if you don’t care
much about anything else. My Viewing Habits- I saw this once in the third
season before watching it a lot again in the fourth and fifth season. I don’t
know yet if I will see it again due to scheduling conflicts. Prediction- This
will probably last quite a while since it is said to be the most watched show
now. Reception: somewhat mixed. Grade: B-.
In
order to keep track of new people, this post will start sharing a theme song
from either the original CSI or CSI: New York until I’ve shared all of them in
this blog and I’ve caught up with it as a result. You will have to read my
Elementary blogs for the theme songs from CSI: Miami, although I will post any
of them here in good time if the links become dead when I check them later.
