I’m
probably what some people would call or consider a TV junkie. I especially tend
to obsess over certain CBS shows. I have a document on my laptop that has
various lists of what shows replaced what other shows. Now this status may be
debated by some, but I still think that most, if not all of them, are listed
correctly. So I might as well point out what shows connected to the CSI franchise
has been replaced with now.
Cold
Case was replaced with Hawaii Five-0. Without a Trace was replaced with The
Good Wife. I have a blog about The Good Wife. http://adamdeckergoodwifetvshow.blogspot.com/ That blog created this blog in a
way. I’ll explain how and why in the next paragraph. Anyways, Two and a Half
Men was replaced by Angel from Hell. Or, it was supposed to be, but ending up
being replaced by the returning 2 Broke Girls. CSI: Miami was replaced first by
NYC 22 and then Elementary. CSI: New York gets crazy trying to keep track of
what all replaced it. It was replaced first by The Job then by Golden Boy
before it split into two comedies: The Crazy Ones and The Millers. The Crazy
Ones was replaced by Bad Teacher then The McCarthys then The Odd Couple. The
Odd Couple and 2 Broke Girls combined to form the show Supergirl. Due to a
sudden schedule change, it is better described that Two and a Half Men is
replaced by some of Supergirl. I only keep track of shows that are currently on
the air, even if others will return at some point. Meanwhile, The Millers was
replaced by Mike and Molly before its current replacement of Life in Pieces.
Meanwhile, the original CSI was originally replaced by Battle Creek before
being replaced by Code Black. And I will probably keep up with what shows will
replace what as things go along. The order we have lost those shows was Without
a Trace, Cold Case, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Two and a Half Men, CSI
(although those last two could be switched).
So
how did a blog about the Good Wife create this blog? Well, it can be annoying
when Sunday shows on CBS air on tape delay. There are many reasons as to why
this happens. But, I knew that when I create a blog about a CBS Sunday show,
then I would create a blog about the two shows after it should there have been
the right delay. Basically, once the shows aired on a planned hour long delay
on the night of the Golden Globe Awards on NBC. That’s what created the blog of
mine about The Good Wife. But, there were other unusual things that could
happen that would get me to create a blog about the show that aired after The
Good Wife. And that happened on 11-1-2015 when one of my CBS affiliates aired
Sundays on delay after a football game (which was incidentally by the same two
teams that once had a game that effectively caused tape delay to exist) while
my other CBS affiliate had no delay at all due to not airing football. Thus, my
rule about creating a blog about the show after the Good Wife (which is this
show, when it could have been other shows alternatively) has happened and I
will create this blog the moment that it airs at 9 Central sharp on both of my
CBS affiliates. I will let you know if there are other old episodes that I’m
catching up on.
One
of the things that I’m waiting for before getting to blog about the first
episode for this blog is when it starts to air at 9 Central on both of my CBS
affiliates. That’s the only request. The first week, there was a doubleheader
which made this impossible. The second week, there was another doubleheader
once again making this impossible. I’m hoping that the third week will work out
because while I could put those two episodes on VHS to catch up on later, if it
airs on time in just one but not the other region, I pretty much have to wait
until later to have my first episode. I will not be blogging about the third
week after 11-1-2015 since there is a delay on one of my two CBS affiliates.
Meanwhile, I’ll still provide future blog posts about the first and second week
after that date.
It
seems as if fate is trying to prevent me from creating this blog about CSI:
Cyber. I still don’t have a first post ready because it hasn’t started on time
in both of my regions for a while. I’m hoping that it does happen in the near
future. But three of the last four weeks have been doubleheader football games
which basically ensure that there will be at least a half hour delay. And the
other week thus far had a small enough delay to prevent the beginning of the
show. But the other affiliate of mine didn’t have a delay so you won’t see a future
post about that.
The
fourth week had a preemption of this show. It is weird that now twice the thing
that would create this blog has still not created a blog about it since it has
not aired at its normal time slot on both affiliates where I live. Meanwhile,
the preemption was annoying. They always are. A football game lasts too long
and then we don’t get the episode that was supposed to air on 11-29-2015.
Meanwhile, a special in the fifth week prevented that episode from airing then.
There is planned football in one affiliate and no football in the other by the
time the sixth week rolls around. Will this planned game end on or before six?
I don’t know but I just want to create this blog sooner rather than later and I
need a new episode with no delays on either affiliate for it to work.
The
year of 2015 is over and they still haven’t aired an episode on time in both of
my regions on CBS. Since football season is almost over, I’m guessing that I
don’t have to worry about this for too much longer. And the episode that aired
on 12-20-2015 was so close to starting at 9 Central. Sports delays could have
preempted that, but a planned rerun of Madam Secretary was cut instead. This
meant that DVR viewers would have missed the beginning of the show for a
change, although they should be glad that they got any of the show at all. But,
the delay was a minute, and thus I won’t be blogging about that episode unless
there’s a rewatch in the future, which there probably will be.
There
was another doubleheader on the first Sunday of the New Year. This didn’t
affect shows as no new ones that I blog about ended up airing. The schedule has
changed. I’m reminded of last year when basically no new episodes of either
Madam Secretary or the Good Wife after the Golden Globes telecast until
sometime in March. It was weird that there weren’t even reruns. Meanwhile, the
rest of that season of CSI was burned off before they brought it back for a
mere two episodes, something I’ll never get over how strange is. No reruns of
Madam Secretary or The Good Wife aired during this time as various specials
were aired in its place. It makes since that none were aired against The Super
Bowl or the Oscars. With the Grammies happening, that replaced it. But I don’t
want to wait that long to create a blog that could have been started much
sooner were there not tape delay in one of my regions every week the NFL has
played this regular season. I’m just hoping that the show finishes airing by
now.
Okay,
so the Golden Globes will be airing on Sunday which could preempt this show as
it did last year. Now that I have blogs about Sunday shows, I have to record
them while watching The Golden Globes. And that’s provided that I watch it at
all. I mean, the host this time is arrogant and rude. I don’t like him that
much. I guess that both Tina Fey and Amy Phoeler were unavailable or didn’t
want to host. Meanwhile, I still don’t know which episode of this show will be
the first one that I blog about. I might have to wait until March.
Well
I have some good news. The night of the Golden Globes on NBC is when CBS
finally decided not to air football in my region close to six. This means,
there is no delay in either region on 1-10-2016, the airing of the first
episode that this blog of mine will cover. There are two previous episodes that
you will see in the future. Those are the sixth episode of this season from
11-8-2015 and the seventh episode of this season from 11-15-2015. Now in the
past I haven’t even recorded any of the shows that air against the Golden
Globes. I’ve changed that so I can watch the Sunday shows that I blog about.
Today’s
episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with an airplane that goes
missing as a result of cyber hacking. People look for where the supposed wreck
of it is, but they are unable to find it. They realize the bad things that must
have gone on. There is also an old friend of people showing up so I’m guessing
this person is evil as that tends to happen a lot.
The
second part brings us the focus of today’s episode: software defined radio-
used to imitate radio frequencies in order to infiltrate secure networks (don’t
always expect there to be a picture there, and hopefully you can see the
picture that’s supposed to be there). A possibly crazy person (in personality,
not mentally, although we’ll see for sure later) comes into the base to help
with the case. Once again in crime shows, this type of person tends to be evil.
And this one might not just be a subplot like the guy from earlier. They figure
out that a passenger was able to sneak something onboard the plane that helped
with the cyber hijacking.
The
third part brings more information on Erica who is on the flight and is
possibly the one responsible for its disappearance. There is an air marshal on
it, but travelling undercover. The new person, whatshisname, is wanting a
permanent job at the cyber crime division, but I still don’t trust him just
yet. Meanwhile, someone new thinks that Erica is going to try to kill a witness
on the plane that is heading to a trial.
The
fourth part has more of the stand-off against Erica. She wasn’t able to find a
witness but can possibly bring the whole plane down with her. Avery and her
crew work to prevent anything bad from happening. The rest of this part is hard
to summarize.
The
fifth part concludes the story of the plane as the pilot is able to regain
control and Erica is arrested. We will see more of Artie so I guess that he
isn’t evil. Also, there’s no going back to that old friend so he probably
really is an old friend and not some evil person as well. There are no scenes
from the next episode, so I’ll be back sometime whenever there is a new episode
and I’ll be sure to talk about the potential future of the CSI franchise (if
there is any, that is). What do I mean by that? You’ll have to read the next
post to know for sure. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
