Cast Update 10-5-2019

You might notice or not notice something different about this blog post as I took out something that I felt didn’t belong anymore. Also take note that there is a new person in the updates. I don’t know if I’ll talk about the schedule of shows on CBS just yet. I might have already or have ignored it for a while now.

Speaking of things I haven’t told you in a while, I was telling you the next four things to be added to the list of things to watch. Now that I have finally had some changes with the list, I can tell you the next four things to be added to my list of things to watch. They are Community season 1, Popeye volume 2, Power Rangers: Megaforce select episodes DVD, and Thomas the Tank Engine video collection that I have.

Patricia Arquette: The main star of CSI: Cyber has future projects mentioned on imdb right now. There is a pretty notable sequel in the work that she is doing. While we don’t know what role she might have in the movie, it looks like she will be lending her voice talent to that of Toy Story 4. There is another project she’ll be in called The Bell Jar. I wonder what that’s about. There’s also a project she’s doing called The Act. She does a lot.

Toy Story 4: This long awaited installment will be on DVD on October 8, 2019. This is the fourth movie in the Toy Story franchise. A road trip, new story named forky, and reuniting with Bo Peep from earlier installments all play an important part of this movie. A review of this movie now follows.

Movie Name: Toy Story 4. Rating- G. Noteworthiness- After a long gap between the first two Toy Story films, a third one was made and now this one is out. Description- Bonnie’s gang of toys go on a road trip with a new toy who is experiencing an identity crisis. While there, they find Bo Peep, who had been given away before. CSI: Cyber Alumni in it- Patricia Arquette plays the mother of one of the new kids that appear in this movie. Pros- It seems to be funnier than all of the previous Toy Story movies. The plots and subplots all worked for the most part. Cons- There seemed to be too much going on in it at once. Parts didn’t seem to be resolved. Note to Parents- A character could be said to be suicidal near the start of this movie and these tendencies are played for laughs. One of the type of toys seen in a lot of this is creepy in many ways. Recommendation- I say that this is a very good film and worth watching. IMDB Ranking: 8.3 My Grade: A.

The Bell Jar: This movie is about a person dealing with mental illness. It says that it is both comedy and drama so it might be like 50 First Dates. I’ll let you know when/if it has an actual release date or trailer. It no longer has a year of release mentioned. It was going to be out in 2018, but now is an unknown year. We’ll see what all changes in the future.

The Act: This has a release date of March 20, 2019, meaning that is it out now. In it, a girl has a toxic relationship with her mother. The girl is trying to escape from it. This will be a Hulu TV series so I’m probably not going to be able to watch it at any point. I can only hope otherwise. There is now a trailer to this show.

Thoughts on trailer: This looks like quite a terrible story. Making matters worse, I think that it is based on events that actually happened. Patricia is playing the villain of the story by the looks of it. She seems to be making her child suffer in various ways. This looks like it is kind of disturbing and I might be okay not watching it as it looks too gruesome in many different ways. This is already available now for anyone who wants to watch it.

Peter MacNicol: I can’t find much ever, if anything, for this actor. I hope that I can avoid saying things about him in a paragraph that could easily wind up outdated forever as I’ve been known for doing. So I came up with this one until the next project he’s in.

James Van Der Beek: I see a project for him called Vampirina. I see him in a new TV show called Pose that I’ll get to. I won’t know for sure about how long some of his shows will last so I hope that I’m not always talking about them when or if they aren’t on anymore. I don’t know what else to say about that. He’s also doing something called Belvedere: Destiny, which might be a video game of some sort, but I can’t find out more information about it right now. He’s also going to be something called Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. He’s also on the newest season of Dancing with the Stars.

Vampirina: This is a show about a young vampire girl who has to adjust after a move. It is an animated Disney Junior show as vampires are a thing that kids should be educated about in some way. It is out now. I was able to see an episode of this so enjoy a review:

Review: Status- Possibly still on the Disney channel. Why I’ve seen it- I watched it so I could review it for this blog. Noteworthiness- This is based on a book series. Description- A vampire girl and her family move from Transylvania to the human world and we see a bunch of adventures with her new friends and family. Notable People- James Van Der Beek plays the father of the main character. Pros- The show largely works and is different enough to make it seem unlike most of the other kid’s shows. Cons- Not all of it makes sense or seems like it needs to be there. There should be more education stuff in there than there is. Note to Parents- With this intentionally targeted for kids, you do not have to worry about much in it. Whether or not you think there could be issues with the theme of this involving vampires might be the only problem I can think of about why someone would not want kids seeing this. Recommendation- I’d put this at a toss-up. There is not much wrong with it as long as you care about shows for kids. My Viewing Habits- I only saw this once and might not see it again. Prediction- I don’t care enough to put something in here. Reception: good. Grade: B-.

Pose: This is airing now on FX yet could be ending its first season already. I don’t know for sure what might be happening. The plot for it mentioned on imdb sounds really confusing and I believe that it relates to transgender issues in some way. It actually has a trailer now. I doubt that I will ever be able to watch it. I don’t think that I’d want to anyways.

Thoughts on trailer: This doesn’t seem any good or interesting to me. It just seems like it is another lame attempt to get people interested in the fashion industry. I don’t even know for sure if the transgender stuff that might be in here is in here. But I don’t care about the fashion industry and this looks lame and vague. Why do people care who wears what when?

Belvedere: Destiny: This is set for release sometime in 2018. I don’t have a plot for it yet and it only mentions one person in the cast right now. I don’t think that I know the format that this will be. It says video on imdb, making me think it will be a video game. But I do not yet know what this is until more details are revealed. It could be out now, but I don’t know yet for sure.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot: This has a release date of October 15, 2019. The characters in this movie seek to prevent another reboot from being made. I’ll have to watch more of the films of these characters in the future, possibly. There is a trailer of this now.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cg74gGSzeYY (note that this is a red band trailer)

Thoughts on trailer: This looks like a dumb comedy, but I do like some of those at times. We’ll see if I’ll like this enough to see other movies in the universe or not. I know that based on the CinemaSins video Everything Wrong with Star Wars: A New Hope, I’m not sure that I can like Kevin Smith’s style of humor or not. I still might watch the other movies even if I don’t like this. Maybe this will be like other movies like it. I won’t regret seeing it or ever want to watch it again. Maybe this will work or maybe not. Also, isn’t the idea of one of these characters having a child very similar to what happened in the newest Dumb and Dumber movie that came out a while back?

Dancing with the Stars: This currently airs on ABC at 8/7 Central on Mondays. James will be on this season so I will be watching it at least once to see what it’s like. This is a reality competition show where professional dancers team up with celebrities of sorts.

Review: Status- Currently on ABC at 8/7 Central on Mondays. Why I’ve seen it- I watched it since James Van Der Beek was in a season of it. Description- Celebrities team up with professional dancers to compete on a live show. Notable People- Tom Bergeron, former host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, is one of the co-hosts of this show. Carrie Ann Inaba, who is currently on The Talk, is a judge on the show. Pros- It can be better and more interesting than one might think, giving its genre. Cons- Too much time is wasted on this show due to set up to dances and other competitions. Note to Parents- Outside of sometimes inappropriate outfits, there might not be too much bad in the show, although you’d have to watch for yourself. Recommendation- This isn’t too bad, but isn’t outstanding either. The main reason why one wouldn’t want to watch it would be time commitment to other things. Prediction- This will probably keep lasting. Reception: good. Grade: B-.

Shad Moss: After all this time I’ve been doing updates, I was beginning to be concerned that I’d never find something for him. Well, he finally has a project in the works. It is called Superstition: The Rule of 3’s. I would review his music videos, but don’t see a point to that right now.

Superstition: The Rule of 3’s: This is a thriller movie on the belief that death occurs in threes. I have no idea what role Shad will end up playing in the film. The status of the film is listed as filming. It has no release date or trailer just yet.

Charley Koontz: A new thing that I see him mentioned in is Hollywood Fringe, a movie of some sort. He will also be in something called Eat Your Heart Out. Another thing mentioned that he’s doing is called Casting the Net. That will be a TV show.

Hollywood Fringe: This movie doesn’t have a release date or trailer yet. The plot is about married actors putting on a play about their own lack of success in Hollywood. The plot sounds like it could use some work on. But I guess that I hope to see whatever becomes of it, if anything. I just know I don’t like having the same thing in here with no real update.

Eat Your Heart Out: This has an unknown date of release at the moment. The plot will be a bit complicated as someone literally gave his heart away and needs to get it back in order to marry someone else. Seems strange, but I might like it. Still, it is a short and I don’t know how I’d be able to watch any of those. There’s a trailer for it now:

Thoughts on trailer: This looks kind of weird, but I guess that it works as an idea of what they can do with a film like this. I don’t know why a heart would be in pieces and can only hope that the cat didn’t eat any of them. I guess I’ll see if I can see what the short film is like if I’m able to see it.

Casting the Net: This is set to be released sometime in 2020. I have no idea what network this will air on. I also don’t know what the plot is. It could relate to fishing, but I won’t know until more details about it are revealed. This could start airing on 1-1-2020.

Hayley Kiyoko: With her not having much to talk about for a while, I might as well just talk about her music videos. I won’t know how old each of these are, but I will say one in every new post until she can find some long term project to mention instead or I stop trying to find new ones to share.

Ted Danson: He is appearing on The Good Place on NBC. Surely his time off of TV means that he could be doing movies in the meantime, but we’ll see if that happens soon or not. It looks like he is doing more now that I can finally see. He is appearing in the upcoming season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. He will also be in Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter about Men. It looks like he might also be in a show called Untitled Ted Danson Project. He could just call it The Ted Project a la Mindy Kaling.

The Good Place: This is an NBC comedy. It is an afterlife based comedy. Ted appears on it in a supporting role. He plays a person who designed the section of the good place for the main characters, although it is possible he made mistakes. Its final season is airing now.

Review: The Good Place: Status- Currently on NBC at 9/8 Central on Thursdays. Why I’ve seen it- In order to review this for this blog, I watched it. Description- A comedy, a woman finds out that she is dead, but in the good place. The main problem: she’s not supposed to be there. Notable People- Ted Danson, who was in many shows in the past, among them Cheers, CSI, and CSI: Cyber, is a character on the show. Kristen Bell, who did many movies and Veronica Mars, is the main character. Pros- The show is different and interesting. It tries to keep religion out of it so as to not offend anyone. Cons- The idea of things going wrong with the good place in death is a bit hard to believe. It lacks a certain amount of charm that you would want it to have. It doesn’t seem as funny as it could be. Note to Parents- This is borderline is terms of what is acceptable to let your kids watch or not. Recommendation- I say that you should watch this if you can because it is pretty good. Prediction- Its upcoming season will be its last. Reception: positive. Grade: B.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: This show has been rebooted and is back with new episodes. It is on right now on HBO. I don’t know the timeslot and don’t know if I can watch it. Hopefully I can get someone to do a guest review for it, but that seems unlikely since that hasn’t happened before with other shows. Of course, if I could borrow a copy that someone that I know has, then I could just watch it on my own. But I don’t think that will happen without doing more research.

Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter about Men: This has no release date yet and does not have a plot yet either. If I had to guess, I’d say that the name of the movie sums up enough of what you’d think the plot would be about. So we’ll see what happens in this later in the future. I don’t see this on imdb anymore so it might not be moving forward as a project.

Untitled Ted Danson Project: This looks like a remake of The Mayor from not too long ago. In this show, a wealthy businessman becomes LA’s mayor. This is totally not inspired by someone like Trump. This has no release date yet. I’d have to imagine that something could come of this real soon after The Good Place ends. This actually has a longer name now, but I won’t call it by something else until it has a real name instead of being an untitled project.

Anthony E Zuiker: It would appear that for now there are no future projects in the work for this franchise creator. He might be working on some sort of project that we don’t know of just yet. But there is nothing known to the public yet. There is nothing new to report.

Carol Mendelsohn: There is a new project in store for this writer as of this update. I’m not sure where it is in terms of happening versus not happening. I will tell you about anything she is a producer of since I want to see something in these updates for her. She has a project in the works called Witchblade. We’ll have to see what happens regarding that. She’s also working on something new called Prism.

Witchblade: This is based off of a comic book. From what I can tell, it is in the magical girls genre, although it might have only one girl whose power comes from an object. I should hopefully have a plot description of it in the future. The release date is unknown at this particular time.

Prism: This looks like a pilot for NBC. Nothing is certain yet about when or if it will air. It has no release date yet. I do hope that something comes of it and we’ll probably find out by May whether or not this will see the light of day. The plot is about investigations of murder told through different perspectives. One would guess that it is a new murder in each new episode. There are talks that this could wind up on Netflix if anything comes of this at all.

Ann Donahue: There’s no new information about this writer. I’m sure that she’ll probably find something, but I’m not sure when. As of this month, there are still no new updates regarding this writer. I hope that she does something. There is nothing new to report.

Bebe Neuwirth: She’s had a recurring bit on Blue Bloods and may show up on it from time to time. There are other minor things that she has done. It appears that she will be in a new movie called Modern Persuasion. We’ll see what else she might be in later.

Modern Persuasion: This movie has an unknown release date at this time. The plot is about a woman’s ex-boyfriend hiring her company which forces her to deal with various things in her life. I don’t know yet what role Bebe will play in this.

William Petersen: He hasn’t done much outside of CSI in the world of television or movies, but it looks like he is working on a project called Hurt People. He is a producer of this and not an actor of it. We will find out if he acts in something again.

Hurt People: Not much is known about this at the time. It is listed as a TV movie. It has no release date or trailer. It doesn’t look like it has a plot either. I can only guess what it will be about as a result. I guess we’ll see what, if anything, becomes of this.

David Caruso: This CSI: Miami actor has apparently done nothing in terms of acting for movies on TV since the show ended. Thus, there are no projects of his to keep track of. He must be making a good living from the residual checks from his show.

Gary Sinise: He has a lot of projects in the works. One is called I Still Believe. He’s also in a movie called Good Joe Bell. Another project is No Better Place to Die. That’s a whole lot of projects that he’s doing now. Sources are also saying he’ll appear in the final season of 13 Reasons Why.

I Still Believe: This is a movie about the Christian singer Jeremy Camp. It is set to be released on March 20, 2020. It actually has a trailer that I will talk about. This seems like it could be a better movie than others could be.

Thoughts on trailer: I don’t know the whole story yet about this so I’ll hopefully avoid learning what happens until I see this movie. But it looks good. I like a lot of these people from other projects and am glad that Gary is now in the updates so I can review this movie for this blog. (I might have seen it anyways.) I look forward to seeing it.

Good Joe Bell: This is set to be released in 2020. It doesn’t have a trailer yet or specific release date. It is about a gay teen who commits suicide after struggling for acceptance. That sounds like a dark movie to me. Maybe it can still be good, though.

No Better Place to Die: This movie is about part of a battle during World War II. It has no release date or trailer at the moment. To date, Gary’s role is the only one that is in the movie right now and even his is just rumored.

Anthony LaPaglia: It appears that he will be in a TV miniseries called Halifax: Retribution. I don’t know much else he could be doing as that doesn’t show up right now. Maybe he will do more or maybe not.

Halifax: Retribution: This has an unknown release date at this time. There is no plot that I can find right now and I don’t know what network this will air on. It might not even air in the US at all. There have been other Halifax stories, apparently.

Laurence Fishburne: He has a recurring role in Black-ish. But that’s not worthy of its own section in this blog as it is not a starring role. He is in Running with the Devil. He’s also in a movie called Brother’s Keeper. He’ll also be in a TV movie called Rendlesham.

Running with the Devil: This movie is out in theaters now. I’ll talk about its trailer and if I am able to see the movie in question at some point in time. Some movies are easier to see than others. It seems to be about people in the drug business working to figure out what is going on with missing shipments.

Thoughts on trailer: This seems incredibly vague about various details of the movie. It does look like it could be exciting in some ways so maybe it will be good. Or maybe I will not be able to make sense of the plot at all. I guess I’ll have to see, maybe.

I’m not going to be able to see the movie right away. If it is in theaters now, I will not be able to see it until it is on DVD. If it is Netflix or some other streaming service, then I might not be able to see it at all. We’ll see what happens with it.

Brother’s Keeper: This doesn’t have a release date yet. It is the true story of a football team from Abilene in 2009. I guess I’ll have to see the movie to find out what happens and hopefully avoid any potential spoilers that I doubt I’ll find out about anyways.

Rendlesham: This has no release date just yet. The plot relates to probably aliens in the 80s in England. I have no idea what network it might air on just yet. Hopefully, I will find out more about this in the future.
